Star Wars Empire at War – FOC Alliance – New Fleet reinforces system
The Fleet Commanders and how they deploy the units in battle has been following a continue improve with the past of the years. It is a old feature. At this moment, in the mod, these reinforces are spawned in the space map just leaving the hyperspace all them in the same position. Well more or less in the same position because sometimes by a mistake from the Fleet Navigators, the units can leave in bad places. 😛 Anyway, it is not the point today.
The point is how I have improved the code for spawn the units inside the reinforces box instead than in the battlefield. It is similar to the old code where the units were spawned in the space map if there were free population points. Now all them are spawned in first place in the reinforces box.
At the same time than before, the reinforces will not be spawned if there is an enemy Interdictor active or the units from you in the battle are more than 15. Without count figher squadrons.
Other point is how the AI will spawn its fleets with the older way, all at the same time. It is not a problem really.
The new spawn system lets you spawn units in any place from the map where you want giving you much better tactical capabilities.
Well, I have recorded a beautiful battle where you can watch how I am playing at 4K with the 24″ screen. I use a special filter from Nvidia converting the 4K to 1080p. It adds a beautiful HD detail. At the same time, I use the shaders from Gaukler and Evilbob. With all these things, the game looks very well as you can see.
