Star Wars Empire at War – Star Trek Alliance – Test III
Another week and much more improves and additions. I have made a lot of changes and there will be a lot more. The mod was fun but it was a bit outdated. Lately I was working with the models from the new races and improving the balance.
The work with the Lyran, Mirak, Gorn, Hydran and ISC is very easy because they have few type of ships and they use ships only from TMP era. The balance with them is not a trouble.
But with other races as the Romulan, Federation and Klingons, it can be difficult. TMP and TOS era are correct. But I am having problems with the TNG era because the ships must be better than the other eras.
I have made many changes in weapons but the phaser barrage or fire to maximun continues being a trouble. The phaser is not a laser as in star wars, it is a continues laser and it adds another headache to the behaviour. But I am sure how I will improve it.
At the same time, I am searching problems and fixing them. You can think how it is easy but it is not true. It is not a game where you can use the default balance system from the original game because mostly your modification just replace the originals by others. Here there are many units and they are from different eras.
Anyway, it goes to take much more time, even I have not added the re-edition from all the previously models added and I must edit again the new and I will add much more…..Borg, Cardasian, Dominion, Breen, all them are in my head. It is a matter of time.
